Adding only images that are missing in a folder tree
Good morning,
After a long night of Aperture import... so pardon my lack of correct English.
I have imported my Aperture Library successfully. I now have the following challenges:
- All my images reside in a folder called Aperture Images
- This folder also holds images that were nit managed my Aperture.
- I tried CO's Sync feature and that one imported all images from folders that already hold images now referecned by CO
- However, I have folders that have not been used by Aperture, therefore not imported into CO. Images in these folders are not synced as CO only seems to sync known folders.
- I tried to import these folders manually (white some work) but that one creates a separte folder tree.
Is there a way to simply import the "delta" of what I have not already imported into a folder?
Thanks a lot,
Mercator

The sync folder option was designed to do the delta. I believe you are already working with that? (from another thread you started). 0 -
Yes, I do. But it cannot import files in folders that are not already hold images synced with CO. What I would have expected is an option that I can import twice (or more) a directory structure and it only adds the files that are not already in the catalog... 0 -
Hmm, not aware of this is possible (apparently not). Perhaps you can the specific folder only in the Import Images dialog? (can be troublesome in a large folder structure, I know).
What you also could try is this. In the Library > Folders section, click in the + sign at the right. It allows you to add a folder to the catalog. Add the folder you like to import additional images from. I assume the folder is not already in the Library.
Next, right-click that folder and Synchronize.0 -
Finding the missing folders is quite cumbersome. I ended up writing a program that traverses a directory tree and lists all the image files that are not in Capture One database. That helped finding the directories/files that needed import... 0
