same problem with 9.0.1. With the original 9.0.0 it worked so far as I know. Can anybody help? Maybe a problem due to windows updates or nvidia driver because I uninstalled 9.0.1 and reinstalled 9.0.0 and have also bluescreen with the same error message. Right now it is not possible to use C1.

    Which version of Windows?

I have not had any problems using Win 7 Pro.

I also have an nvidia GPU. It worked with the driver that was installed. Windows advised the driver was up to date. However I find a later driver on the nvidia site and decided to try that. Everything still works.

Interestingly the GPU was previously rejected for having insufficient processing resource but I notice that new it seems to be used to some extent and even going back to Version 8 it show as in use - which it never did previously.

I cannot yet explain that change. It was not connected with the new driver install.

I have no experience with Win 10.

The error message seems to be quite common judging by a quick Google search. Whether the links provide any useful pointers to a solution I have no idea. There seem to be several possible reasons.

    Sorry.

this problem only occurs when I start C1, I suppose it is a specific C1 problem with latest windows 10 updates or nvidia driver.

When you uninstalled 9.0.1, did you just run the uninstall program?

You need to remove some other items.

The following article has some additional steps:

(note: this only goes up to Windows 8 and CO v8, so may need adapting for your versions).

I removed all the items, still the same, after the installation the bluescreen is back if I start C1....

For the time being it is solved.
It looks like a licence management issue...

I deactivated my licence on phase one website for my notebook, installed 9.0.0 as test version, after that I activated the 9.0.0 to full with licence and than updated to 9.0.1. No problem at all until now. The only problem that phase one is showing that I have already used two licences with the same hardware ID although the software is installed only on one notebook.

I would suggest you create a support case and have the C1 support team help you to resolve the discrepancy.

Please create a Support case. This is very likely to be hardware or driver issues.

I found the issue and created a support case

On Sun 2016-01-03 16:04:16 GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\010316-7390-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: avgntflt.sys (avgntflt+0x16F18)
    Bugcheck code: 0x139 (0x3, 0xFFFFD00025AD3090, 0xFFFFD00025AD2FE8, 0x0)
    Error: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE
    file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\avgntflt.sys
    product: Avira Product Family
company: Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG
    description: Avira Minifilter Driver
Bug check description: The kernel has detected the corruption of a critical data structure.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: avgntflt.sys (Avira Minifilter Driver, Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG).
Google query: Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

I got the same KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE bluescreen error after installing 9.01 on my new Windows 10 pro (Dell XPS 15) laptop.

First time I've installed Capture One on this laptop, it installed some new VC++ packages and drivers. After installation finished I went to open Capture One and after a few seconds before I could even do anything it bluescreened.

Rebooted, did NOT launch Capture One, and after about five minutes just doing random Windows things it blue screened again.

Rebooted, same as above, without Capture One even running it blue screened after about 5 minutes.

Rebooted, went straight into programs and features and removed the Leaf(?) driver package. Rebooted, blue screened again without doing anything.

Rebooted again, did a system restore to before the Capture One install and now it's 100% fine with no bluescreens.

I don't have Avira. I do use comodo firewall and malwarebytes if that has anything to do with it. All drivers are 100% up to date.

Hope there is a fix for this soon. Thanks.

Have you created a Support Case?

I would guess that Phase would like to have sight of some log files to see what is going on.

I would guess that is might be something to do with Windows sub-system related updates. Either something being in stalled is ahead of where you Win 10 installation is at OR maybe behind it. Win 10, even more than former windows update dramas, is a bit of a moving target as far as I see it.

That's one of the reasons I have not looked at it yet.

    ETA:

It might be interesting to re-install 9.0.1, don't attempt to start it, run the Windows update check (I assume W10 allows you ot choose to do that) and see what it reports.

Also would I be right to assume the Windows and/or Dell have some system configuration setting checking software available that will, theoretically, analyse the system for possible inconsistencies?

If there is such an option it might, possibly, speed up the diagnosis.

I have the same problem on a brand new Asus AIO Zen Desktop.

I've installed a few apps first including Adobe CS6 and MS Office, Chrome, etc, no problems. After I installed CO I get a blue screen. I can't even get to the point of registering my license - it crashes with that same error each time. Guess I'll have to uninstall it and wait for a fix.

very frustrating as I bought the new PC to work faster on my photos.

In my case it happened after the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3124263)" update from Microsoft but only affected my Dual GPU machine. (13 Jan)

In my case I resolved it by doing a clean install of my NVIDIA drivers, I don't know for sure but I think it also updated the GPU Driver Model to WDDM 2.0 from 1.3

I have also noticed on the internet that it also affects some AMD GPU's on Dual GPU systems.

    Hi,

    I had the same problem.

I may have found a solution.

My config : a laptop with intel + nvidia graphics

Right-clic on the desktop to open the nvidia panel, then go to the 3D preferences. Add capture One, you will see that by default the program opens with Intel (not Nvidia). Then you have to select that by default it opens with Nvidia. Then click apply.

At the moment, no BSOD anymore.
