I use the scroll wheel on the mouse to zoom. Be sure the pointer is on the image. You can also scroll the mouse when hovering over settings to incrementally change them.

    I've assigned numpad 0, 1, 2, 4 for this
    0 - fit to screen
    1 - 100%
    2 - 200%
    4 - 400%

    Coach -

Thanks for your information I tried the mouse scroll wheel and it works great.

    Alex1 -

I am using a PC with 4.8.1. I have tried to edit/change the shortcuts and I can't figure out how to do it. I have double and right clicked and I don't get any window that will let me assign a specific keyboard shortcut.

How did you assign the numpad 0, 1, 2, 4 for zoom?

    Thanks everyone!

The key assignments are too easy making it confusing. Go to Edit, Keyboard Shortcuts, if you haven't created a new one yet, click Duplicate, then give it a name (you can't change the default keyboard, only user created). Now just click on whatever you want to change, and here's the easy/confusing part since there are no prompts, just press the key or key combination that you want to use for the highlighted option. So to change view zoom 100%, click on it, then press "1" if that's what you want to use. (I have "1" for one star in the ratings myself.) I don't see a way to cancel or undo a change, so if you make a mistake you'll have to press the original keystroke to get everything back....

    Coach,
I found that main numbers (row across main keyboard) are unique from num-pad numbers (on right)
So I have top numbers for assigning rating and numpad numbers for zoom.

Keyboard shortcuts for zooming works like charm. Sad thing is that this only works in the viewer screen and not in the seperate viewer window.
this would be a great to work faster in a dual monitor workspace.
