Can't Open Session

Hi

Hope someone can help.

I am trying to open a Capture One Session last edited in August.
I open Capture One 10 and select the Session from the dialog, but it crashes and won't open it.

I have purchased Capture One 12 but not used this session file with it.

Any suggestions on what I can do to open this file?

  Are you on Mac or Windows? Where is the session file located?

  Sorry, I didn't reply earlier.
  It is a Mac running High Sierra and the session file is is on the start up disk with 1.5TB free
  The photos are on an 8TB external drive.
  
  It actually eventually does open, but I still haven't worked out why it takes so long to open now when it never used to.
  To make things confusing, every now and then it opens fast.
  But then the next time slow.
