Should I uninstall C1 Pro before installing C1 4?
Hello;
I am using C1 Pro 3.7.6 and would like to install Capture One 4 while I wait for the Pro version to become available.
Should I uninstall C1 Pro before installing Capture One 4?
What is the word on the street? Is Capture One 4 a stable product?
Thanks!

Hi Bill,
Given that both versions can operate concurrently (and though I haven't installed the final C1v4 myself, I believe old Pro users can use their license key in it to operate it), my suggestion would be to not uninstall v3 if you don't need to.
As for v4 problems, well, you're on these forums now, so look around. Some problems apply to everyone, some are just quirks that seem to occur only for a minority. Looking around here will give you a feel for the challenges people have faced. If you used the beta(s), you would have a good feel for v4 already, as it seems the number of things that have changed is quite minimal.
One of the biggies is the inability to exchange settings between v3 and v4. One practical implication of this, is that any work you do in v4 would be lost if you decide later to revert back to v3 and rely on it until some aspects of v4 are improved in a later release.0 -

You can install AND run CO3.x (either Pro or LE) and CO4 side by side. There are fully independent from each other. Gives a save fall back scenario too.
As photogenix wrote, you can use your CO3 Pro key to activate CO4, without being charged for number of free upgrades. I think the CO4 is a pretty stable product for a first release (opinions vary 😄 ) but not as stable as CO3 of course due to its longer life-cycle.
I would start evaluating CO4 now while waiting for CO4 Pro to become available.0
