Doesn't export variants to selected folder
When I choose to export my variants it says they're going to the output folder but they never go there, they go to the root folder instead. I also tried to specify a subfolder and that also did nothing.
Is the program broken?
When i create a new session I usually manually copy my files into the capture folder, is that the right way to do it or does this just confuse the program?

You can copy files into the capture folder if you like, and Capture One will pick them up.
You need to look carefully at the various options for where files are exported to in process recipes. There are powerful options, but that means that getting what you want can include some pitfalls. In the Process Recipe section on the Output tab, there is a File tab. What you choose there can over-ride what it says in the Output Location section. (This is useful, because you can create recipes that output to different places - for example I have a recipe for Facebook images that ignores my usual output location and instead puts them into a folder of Images for Facebook.) In that tab there is a drop-down menu for Root Folder. If you set that to Output Location the images end up in the regular Output folder (though you can arrange for them to go in subfolders of it). If you set it to Image Folder, they end up in same folder as the raw files (though again you could arrange for subfolders). If you choose Select Folder... you can put then wherever you want.

For anyone else who stumbles on this thread looking for output file routing help, also reference the Output Location tool. This determines the Output Location path in the aforementioned Root Folder. It can point anywhere on your system, not just the Output folder within the session folder structure. 0
