Magne's profiles and v4.0
I've recently purchased a Canon 5D. Having used Magne's profiles for other bodies I'm interested in his 5D profiles. Before I buy them can Phase One confiem whether his current profiles will be compatible with Capture One v4.0?

Hi Andy,
Capture One is an open platform that supports ICC profiles. As ICC is a standard, so long as these are ICC profiles they will work in Capture One no problem.

Yes, Magne's profiles are excellent. I've been using them with the 1Ds and 1Ds2 and they make a considerable difference. I hope that he will continue to support future Canon bodies, like the 1Ds3, among others. Or that Capture One will provide profiles that are as good with their software, even if it is not for Phase backs. 0 -
To share a post from Windows Forum thread discussing Canon skintone profiles: I use the COLOR EDITOR feature in Pro to adjust any of the tone that I feel need attention-
Workflow>Color Editor>select the profile to modify>use eye dropper to select the skintone range> THEN adjust the saturation/hue and lightness to make it the way you want- simple.

I have MANY profiles that I have made from the base profile- some for dark skin tones that sometimes go too yellow in the highlight for my tastes, some for Chrome that needs to retain highlights, some to punch up a reds , or even greens in a landscape etc.
The color editor is maybe the most powerful tool that C1 Pro has- once the profile is done you can use it and adjust it over and over again depending upon the circumstances- try it you will like it- Aran
I share because I too think the Color Editor is a powerful tool to tweak/adjust/customize the camera profile to exactly the color results one is after.
Consistent and Dead-on color has never been so easy from RAW.
And with version 4.0 improving Color Management and a Better Color Editor tool, it can only get better. 😄

I am distributing some donationware profiles for the Canon 5D and for the Leica M8.
These profiles are not really color-accurate, but rather tailored to create more luminous less saturated skin tones.
