    Hello AKAs

I received my Leica M8 a week before.
It came with a C1 LE Version.
I have a lot of experience with Leaf Capture 8 and 10 and with PS CS and Aperture.

    But LC1 makes me worry.

Like you I cannot create sessions.
In the help-files it is not specified if it is a Pro feature only ... seltsam.

I´m also wondering if there´s a way to rename files. Batch renaming ...

And if I can create black and white pictures not by setting the profile to BW but with Aperture-like parameters ...

hope some experienced C1 users will help us!

Thank you for supporting us, Klaus

Yes, it is very confusing. I've tried my best to understand the manual but it is written more for the PRO version. The forum threads are not that specific as well. I'm told it's worth the effort though because of the C1's excellent conversions.

    But congratulations on the M8!

The m8 ... great camera (its a perfect addition to the Eos 1 Ds and my Leaf Aptus Digital Back) ... but there´s a huge problem with the M8 ... I shot a series of Cairo-City-Night-Scenes and about half of the pictures do have bright lines, starting at strong light sources ... flourescent lights, street lights ... now I wait for the response Leica will give me soon, hopefully ...

C1 ... the conversions may be excellent, but it seems the workflow (at least with the LE version) is not very ... intuitive ...

The Bad News ... the LE User Guide has been the PRO version one for a while and has caused confusion.
The Good News... an entirely new LE User Guide will arrive with 4.0 !

Yes, you can add as many Sessions to the LE version as you need to.
The icon for Add Session is primarily for Tethered shooting which LE does not support.
For LE you add Sessions by Browsing and then click icon Insert current folder as permanent collection This icon is above the File Tree for browsing.
You'll also see Create new subfolder which of course can then be assigned as the Move To folder.
Renaming can be done using the Phase One Media Reader for import, or individually under each Thumbnail, or at Processing Image Title:
No, there is not a Batch Rename tool in the LE version.

    Keith,

Thanks for the response. I'm not at my workstation now, but will try it tonight and post back. A few questions though so I'm closer to ready:
    1. When you say adding Sessions by Browsing, do you mean, I should go to Finder (in a Mac) and create a folder that will eventually become my Session folder.
    2. If so, then I should go inside C1 and go to the Browsing window and look for the Session folder I just created?
    3. Then, by clicking the icon INSERT CURRENT FOLDERS AS PERMANENT COLLECTION, I thereby make a Session folder and then, the Capture, Processed, and .session files are created?
    4. Finally, if all I say above is correct, I don't remember seeing the icon above the File Tree. I don't remember seeing any icons actually. When you say File Tree, do you meant the Browser window in C1 at the bottom of the Organize tool?
    5. Additionally, what is the MOVE TO FOLDER for?

Sorry for the very basic questions. I'm fairly experienced with post processing, but for some reason slow on the pick up right now.

    THANKS!

I apologize, I have posted with the 'Windows mindset' 🤭

In MAC LE version you can only work on 1 Session at a time.
On Mac, the equivalent of Move to is the creation of a Favorites folder.

    See Knowledge Base article:

Thanks Keith. That's what I suspected.

Though regarding the Move To folder...I do have it in my Mac version???

    akasocrates,

    Yes, you can do this.
At bottom of Organize Tool is the icon to Add New Favorite

Name this folder and then check to establish as Move To Folder

    Cheers,
