V4.1 will not see directories or open files

I installed version 4.1 but it will not expand the directory structure in the file browser (it only shows drive letters) and will not open any files.

Anyone else have this issue and any idea on how to fix it?

  No, It is a HP xw8200 dual xeon workstation running XP Pro.

  I solved my problem...
  
  In order to solve the problem, I created a new XP virtual machine using VMware Workstation version 6 and installed CaptureOne 4.1 in this virtual machine on my workstation.
  
  The application works now. I will map my physical drives as network drives to this virtual machine and should be able to work using the application when I need to.
  
  this is a bit of a work around but there must be some issue with other software installed on the primary system.
