File name length issues on Mac (5 year-old bug)
PhaseOne, please fix this serious bug if you can...
http://social.expression.microsoft.com/ ... fdfb78c983
It is now over 5 years old and seriously affects any Mac user with long file names (like, um, almost all users). The bug with folder names > 31 characters appears to have been fixed; it's just file names.

This bug seems to have been squashed with Media Pro v. 1 (FINALLY 😄 ). There is still a noticeable shortening of long file names in the import progress dialog (only cosmetic?), but I have seen NO indication so far that Media Pro doesn't play nice with long file names, on the Mac at least.
Updating folders no longer re-imports files with long names (>31 characters)! I tested locally and with copied and network-referenced catalogs.
