How to change/rename folders in existing catalogue ?

To store the original raw data I use an external hard drive, the C1P-catalogues are stored on the ssd on my MacBook. For internal reasons I had to rename folders on the external hd and can't find a way to reassign the variants in my catalogue to this new folder. The only way seems to be to right klick on a variant marked with the "?" and use "Find" in the context menu. But this is slow work since you have to do this frame by frame...

Somebody knows a faster way ???

  You can locate complete folders and folder trees of your referenced catalog from the 'Library' tool. Just right-click the folder and do 'Locate...' in the 'Folders' section.

  Yes, I tried this one too and located the (renamed) folder. But this added only the undeveloped raws, my variants were still offline.

  Now that i can rename folders directly in Capture One 10 i don't have the need to do anything where the raw file is referenced, but in Capture One 8 it was sometimes necessary, then i always used the function "synchronize folder"

  But what exactly do you mean by that?
  - You have an image and cloned it ( -> 2 variants), and you then developed the second one. The first was relocated, but the second not?
  - Is it always the first variant that is left undeveloped?
  - If not, is it always the first variant that is relocated, or the undeveloped one?
  
  I've tried it with a small test catalog but couldn't duplicate this behaviour.
  
  My catalog had 2 images, unadjusted. I cloned both and on image A I changed variant 1 and on B I changed variant 2. Then renamed (in the Finder) the folder they were in, and C1 promptly showed them as offline. I then located that folder (in C1) and all 4 variants came back to life. I tried it with jpgs and raws: it all works as expected.

  It happened to me that I created a new variant, which didn't appear in the selection simply because the original picture wore a notation (star, color,..), the new variant not, and that my filter was selecting the criteria (star, color,...).
