Buying Rel 13

I have scoped out CO a bit and am almost ready to purchase the license. From past history it looks like new releases appear in late November. It appears from forum discussions, that one has 30 days from a license purchase to upgrade to the next release. Meaning I need to wait until early November to be safe to purchase CO12, so that I can upgrade to CO13. All speculation, but is this the intent; to encourage me wait until early November, when I could/would simply do the purchase right now? I realize there have to be cutoffs and rules, etc.

  I guess I could simply go for the monthly plan, until November ends.

  You can do the 30 day trial and than purchase afterward for a 30 day grace period to CO13. That's assuming it comes in Nov.

  Release dates are not announced in advance by PhaseOne.
  
  Thus the only way to be "safe" I think is to wait until version 13 is out.

  IMO, Phase One will release the next major version, when they decide that it is ready for release.
  If this happens (about) every twelve months, is simply a speculation. 🙄
  
  Actually, the main question should be:
  Do you need the features/capabilities of Capture One right now?
  

  
  
  • If not: Waiting might look like a feasible option.
  
  
  • If yes:
    
    • (if possible) Use a test version and then re-evaluate when the test version expires
    
    
    • Consider the subscription option (I.e., you always may use the latest version during the subscription time)
    
    
    • Buy it right away. Re-evaluate at the time when a new version comes to market:
      • Was your purchase still within the grace period for a free upgrade
      
      
      • Are the new features so important to you that you want to pay for the upgrade
      
      

  
  
  In any case, I feel confident that after Rel 13 sooner or later Rel 14 will be published. Thus, it is your decision how long you are willing to wait 😎
