Capture One 6 Crashes on opening
I have downloaded a trail version of Capture One pro 6 with the intention of buying it. I used it successfully for a shoot and loved the programme. However ever since, every time I try to open the program it tells me to check for updates, I follow this through with nothing to update and when I click away from the box it crashes immediately. It is very frustrating as I now cannot access my raw files from a previous session and have a shoot today that I would like to use it for.
I am using windows 7 vista could this be the reason for the crashing as it is so spectacularly rubbish? Is this a common problem and what can I do to fix it?
Thank you

To start, switch off the update check in the Preferences, Update tab. You'll find the preferences in the Edit menu. Set the Automatically Check to Never.
I would not regard crashing as a common problem and difficult to diagnose when you just started using it. See if it works for you without the update check. If crashes continue, you'll best open a support case with Phase One from their web site.0 -
I can change it to never but won't let me save the options as it crashes before I have a chance. 0 -
Try running it as "Run as Administrator" once. See if that fixes it.

It is a wild guess but it sounds like a Windows permissions issue. In plain English, the folder Capture One likes to write to does not have the right permission (should be full control). Just a guess of course. And in addition to that, Capture One does not handle the issue very elegantly.
If you contact support, they will probably ask you to send in the crash log, so they can analyze it more detailed.0 -
