    C1 v5.2
I've always had problems with batch renaming files. Win 7 Home premium OS? Don't know, C1 acts as if it freezes, the error reporter pops up, but doesn't work. So I wait it out 10-15 min, close it out, restart C1 and most of them reload with the new image number. I do however have all of my files on my server. I did, however copy a folder to a resident hard drive, to see if C1 would function better, but it did not.

One other thing, Dual or Quad i7? I'm running two Quad i7 and thinking about another.

    I'm listening.

Which motherboard are you using? I am not aware any MBs can take 3 i7 CPUs, Mac perhaps?

Each HT enabled i7 CPU shows up as 8 CPUs under the Windows. Your system must be showing 16 CPUs right now!

Sorry about the confusion. I have 3 separate work stations. two of them are runnig i7 quads, the other is an AMD single core. I was debating replacing the AMD with a new machine and wandering if the quad core i7 was really necesary. However the mother board I am using is a MSI X58Pro. But if anyone out there has any feedback on their Mobos, I'm listening.

I never tried CO 6 on dual core machines. My previous one was based on Core2 Quad Q9550. I just built a new one based on the i7-870 Lynnfield which uses faster DD3 memory and a faster "uncore" than the one on most Bloomfield based CPUs.

The i7-870 based system feels about twice as fast as the Core2 Quad Q9550 based old machine. It is probably due to the faster DD3 memory, L3 caching and better hyperthreading. It also has a faster GPU, Radeon 5770 vs 5550.

This is my first post. I have recently updated to C1-6. I like the new features such as Local Adjustments, Black & White and few other minor improvements. Very good.

All said I have to admit that this version is not as stable as the previous one. On my first day of trying, I have had problems with Renaming Batch files, sometimes working image gets distorted when you select from one tool to the other and it takes few other clicks to refresh it, selecting a thumbnail sometimes displayes a previously selected image in work area.

I have never had such issues with C1-5. I am sure we will see some of these bugs fixed in the coming update soon.

I stoped working with v6 after first days try and reverted back to v5. Today I am back on v6 after I upgraded my graphics card driver as I thought this to be the culprit for unpredictable image refesh. I am happy to say that it has fixed the issues I had earlier. The other issue I had was Batch File Renaming. Only first 2 files were renamed out of about 150. Today I tried renaming a batch of 10 files - no problem, it did the job. So I tried another batch of 100. Same problem occured - first 2 files were renamed and not the rest. Activities shows Renaming is working but for nearly 15 minutes and no results? This is a bug which is not present in the previous version.

The X58 chipset is a very good performer, so in general, all boards with that chipset are recommendable. I use Intel's DX58SO board with an i7 950 and I am happy with it. By the way I use the triple-interleaved RAM feature of this chipset for very large memory bandwidth.

Tested this with 94 Leica M8 DNG files today. Batch renaming ran without an itch. Maybe you dig deeper into it here, providing more details or you might prefer to open a support case? (Win7 x64, CO 6.0.1 64-bit)
