Mask - Mask Erase
First ... I must say how frustrated I am with trying to learn about Capture One Pro 7. I can't find a "basic" tutorial that explains just the icons.
So ... I started playing around. While playing with the mask tool (brush), I found it to be rather good. However, I wanted to find how to erase a portion of the mask that over-shot my original mask intent. After several hours, I found that if I hit the (e) key, I could erase the portion of the mask I did not want.
Now ... I can't find out how to get the original mask tool (+) back.
Can someone help with 1) a basic tutorial explaining the icons and 2) how to I get my original (+) mask tool back ... and ... was I correct by hitting the (e) key to get the erase mask feature?

All the basic information - or perhaps I should say at least 99% of it - that you may need to discover the general approach to using Capture One, is in the On Line help. I think you can still also download that as a stand alone file if you feel the need but since the online version is context sensitive from wherever you are in the application it always seem to me to be much more useful to use it interactively if you have an internet connection.
I don't have a Mac but I'm fairly sure that you will find the same opportunities that exist on a PC.
On the main screen there is a Menu option for Help and the first item ion that menu is for the OnlIne User Guide (Hot Key F1 on a PC) which takes you to the start of the user guide document.
For context sensitive help look for a question mark symbol "?" on the tool menus (usually the top title line of the tool over to the right). If there is a specific section of the User Guide dedicated to the tool a direct link is provided to it in the online help. (Some tools collect functions that are gathered from around the application and do not have a dedicated section in the user guide so the direct links cannot be provided. However the information required can usually be readily found through the online UG search facility.)
As for functionality - Capture One is highly user configurable should you wish to personalise it. It may take a while to become familiar enough to know how you wish to tune things to your liking. Bear in mind that all icons offer on screen help if you hover your cursor over them and many, especially the row in the middle of the user definable menu above the main functional area, will have multiple related functions that can be discovered by using the Right Mouse button (on a PC and I assume Mac) to see what is on offer.
For your Adjustment layers question try the contextual help from the Adjustment Layers Tab (Artistic style paint brush icon) or the same icon on the tools menu bar which is usually above the main viewing window in the default Workspace when Capture One is opened (try a right click on the icon for a list of available functions at that level).
Hope this helps.

Thanks Grant ... but I still don't have any idea how to do a mask or erase a mask or get the mask (+)function back. 0
