Tethering the 1Ds MarkII?

What's the word on this? I am new to the C1Pro software. The issue of not being able to shoot tethered with the 1Ds Mark II seems to be something many of us are experiencing despite claims that version 3.6.1. supports this camera. It's come up on several threads but I have yet to see an encouraging response. When can we expect an update?

P.S. Someone suggested tethering while using the Canon software and saving the RAW files to the C1 Pro folder. Haven't tried this yet.

  I'll reply to this since I've heard it a few times already . . .
  
  First of all, when PhaseOne says the camera is \"supported\", they mean that C1 can read the format from the camera. It does not mean that it can tether the camera. This is misleading to everyone who first looks at the specs for the software--it must be a marketing ploy by phaseone. How many people buy the software mistakenly thinking that \"supported\" means \"tethered capable\"?
  
  Here are the facts:
  the newest version, 3.6.1, supports the 1d and 1ds tethered (*see note below). It does not support the 1dmkII or 1dsmkII tethered. I have tried it myself; \"connection errors\" and frustration result.
  
  (*Note: this is after you click the checkbox in the info dialog for the application in the finder)
  
  The workaround to use C1 with a mkII is to use canon's proprietary capture software (\"Canon Capture\") for tethered operation, then switch over to C1 to view the file once it finishes downloading.
  
  Or, you can express your frustration with a $500 program that doesn't really do what you want by just using Canon DPP (admittedly inferior).

  I finally had a chance to try going through the Canon capture software. It worked. I get it to save the RAW files directly to the capture folder in C1Pro. It takes a few seconds to show up in the C1P window and only after you click back to it from the Canon window but it's not too bad.

  So far so good. I've shot a few jobs and everything worked fine.
  
  What's the differance between the EOS Digital Solutions software and the Digital Photo Professional software. I've only installed the first one so far.

  Regarding DPP versus EOS Viewer:
  DPP is effectively an updated version of the EOS Viewer. It is reputedly a far, far faster program (I haven't done tests myself).
  
  However, the Viewer still has a few functions that DPP lacks: the viewer can change camera settings; DPP cannot.
  
  If you have to use one of these two--which hopefully you avoid since C1 is far superior in all respects (except we await the tethered function of course!)--then definitely use dpp. If canon had their shit together--which has never been the case when it comes to software--then dpp would incorporate all the functions of EOS viewer and it would be fully obsolete.
