Loupe tool continually *crashing*

I've had this problem through almost every version of Cap1Pro 8 but it's finally driven me nuts.

The loupe tool can be working perfectly fine and then it's as if the 100% preview gets lost in the system. It'll go crunchy and pixelated and will not render at all. It has also at times reset it's loupe size from large to small and the zoom ratio.

I have had this through many builds of C1Pro 8, operating systems (10.9-10.10) and i thought it could be bad prefs. I wiped my ENTIRE drive and did a fresh install of 10.10.2 and then installed C1 8.1.1
I have a Mac Pro 2x2.8ghz Quad Core with 22gb of ram, SSD drives throughout and an ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB graphics card.

Any ideas why this software can still be a funky as last weeks milk?

  Please submit a support-case, and let them take a look at crash-reports and logs.
