Sometimes coming from another piece of software you look to do things exactly the same way. May I suggest a slightly different way of looking at the problem.

If you rate or tag your images you intend to process as you go through making adjustments, then you have a quick way to select all that you want to develop in one shot. Invert that selection and you've got the ones you don't want to keep (disk space is cheap; I keep all my photos). Plus, the rating and tags are a little more permanent than the "processed" mark.

Still, another selection criteria wouldn't hurt anything. You may wish to make a formal feature request in the support area of the main site. While this forum is occasionally watched by Phase One representatives, only an actual support request will get anyone's attention.

How do you deal with a problem o selecting only landscape or portrait photos?
I prepare photos on native resolution of my monitor and I have to distinguish between 1280 width and 1024 hight which is not 3:2.
    Any easy way?

Just to be clear, what is it you're trying to achieve? Do you want all your photos to be processed to have dimensions of 1280 and 1024, but still be portrait or landscape? Or is it that you want no photo to be more than 1024 tall or 1280 wide, regardless of the other dimension?

I'm not in front of the program right now (if someone else knows the answer, feel free to jump in), but there may be a way to do the later with just one processing recipe, rather than having to run through twice with two different batches. There is definitely a way to the former, as that is what Capture One does by default.

Otherwise, because orientation is not a selectable criteria, I'd suggest tagging all the landscape photos with one color and the portrait with a different. Then you can select by color before processing.

    Thanks Christopher for your contribution.
As you wrote. I want to have landscape photos not wider than 1280 px and portrait photos not higher than 1024 px, I don't mind opposite dimension. I haven't mentioned that I'm using standard version of C1.

Of course I can tag my photos but it takes time and disturbs the tag association.

Try (after conversion at C1) softwares like FastStoneImageViewer (free) or PhotoMechanic to do this.

    Thanks Nando. I'll check it.
