Processing 300dpi to CMYK end up 72dpi
Hi Supporters can you fill my info gap, I processed an image to Offset Euro Catalogp repress profile as a Quality JPEG high at Resolution 300dpi, on MacOS 10.4.9. I opened the image up in Photoshop CS2 and noticed that the dpi read as 72dpi - Is this how it should be?.
Tried the same, but as an 8Bit Tiff and ended up as 300dpi.
Can someone advise, Thanks Ed

For the record i'm using 3.7.7.-3122 0 -
DPI is only meaningfull together with dimentions. What count are the width & height of an image in pixels.
An image of 2000 x 3000 pixels is 70 x 105 cm at 72 dpi OR 17 x 25 cm at 300 dpi but it's still the same image.
Check it yourself in Photoshop > Image Size (just make sure you uncheck the 'resample' box).0 -
Thanks for that, I spoke to the Flash Centre in London who confirmed that yesterday (Friday) - Both of you put my mind at ease. It is still strange and confusing why it shows up in CS2 (Image size) as 72dpi if you save as CMYK jpeg but 300 dpi if saved as 8bit Tiff.
Peace of mind is a lovely thing.
Good luck to all Phase Oners!0
