DNG support in CP1 Express for Sony
I have only just "found" CP1 Express for Sony. I don't fully understand the limitations regarding Sony file support.
I have been using Photomechanic with my NEX7 images and my SOP is to convert all ARW files to DNG (using Adobe's DNG converter) after the ingest by PM.
But when I look at those DNG files in CP1 Express, they have really odd colours and I cannot, yet, work with any of my existing NEX7 DNG files in CP1. Does CP1 Express not consider those DNG versions of my ARW files legitimate Sony files?
Any comments would be very welcome.

CO8 Express for Sony does only work with the original ARW raw files from your Sony camera. Do not convert to DNG.
You might see any benefit from the DNG conversion, which I do not and I do not intend to argue about with you, but as a rule of thumb do never convert raw to DNG when you want the best results from Capture One (any version).0 -
The only way "around" this seems to be to convert the DNG's to an older version (4.6?).
I also converted my ARW's to DNG, because I wanted to embed a 1:1 preview in order to select the sharp and unsharp photos quicker, LR's generation is slooooooooow... Now I'm suffering twice for this "mistake" ☹️0 -

Many thanks, Paul. I suspected that would be the case. My only reason for the DNG conversion was that PS ACR writes adjustments to a separate xmp file if I work with the ARW files, but writes to the DNG files directly. I prefer that.
But PM does not have a catalog like CP1 does.
It poses something of a dilemma. If I switch to CP1, it would have to be just for the images taken from now on. I do have all the original ARW files, but not sure if its worth the effort of replacing the DNG files with the original ARW files.
I tried to convert the DNG's to an older version 4.6, but that did not work for all DNG files.
Thanks again
