CO 4 deinstall?

I have just upgraded from CO 4 to CO 6. The installation went without a glitch. However, at that end of the process I ended up with two installations as the old CO 4 is till on the computer, is activated and it works! I do not want to have both software installed on the same PC. I am thinking about uninstalling the CO 4. Do I have to deactivate it first? Any precautions I need to take?
