"CaptureOne" folders since V10?

I can verify that the cause of the "Capture One" folder appearing is due, at least in my case, to image renaming.

I recently upgraded to Version 10 as it has support for my new Olympus OM-D-E-M1 MkII and for reasons I won't bore you with I started a new catalogue directly from my Lightroom catalogue using the Lightroom import. The catalogue is a referenced catalogue so no new files were added or created and I have C1 metadata sync set to "none".

I would like to emphasise that I have most definitely NOT used any sessions. None, zilch, zero, nothing, absolutely NO SESSIONS.

Anyway, I imported my first pictures from the new camera into C1 using my naming convention which was M1ACyyyymmdd_xxxx, where M1 represents the camera, AC represents my initials and the rest is fairly obvious. The photos are all stored in the standard Lightroom folder hierarchy, namely yyyy<mm<dd.

I subsequently decided that I would rename the new camera images as M12ACyyyymmdd_xxxx and as there were only a handful I did this manually from within C1. I now find in each folder that contains the new images there is now a "Capture One" folder.

This is most definitely a bug and I will be reporting it as such to Phase One.

    Hi Grant

Sorry to get back with post #4 😄 .

But let me tell you that the thing with creating those folders is probably fixed with the latest C1 release (V 10.0.2.33) that came out a couple of hours ago. Tech support got back to me to check with that latest version which I did in short and no additional folders ever since showed up. So maybe we all should test and see if it's resolved.

    Have a great day!
