Behaviour change after Upgrade to Win 1703
Last Friday I got upgraded to Windows 1703. When I used CO10.0.2 today I noticed a strange change in behaviour.
Usually the Picture browser shows all imported raw files if "Alle Bilder" (all Pictures) is selected. But today I found all my JPGs from the Output Folder included in the list. Change to the System was just the Windows upgrade. Anybody else having this problem?
The Workaround is easy. I created a new smart album and filter all Pictures ending with "ARW" (Sony raw Format). Still, I would prefer the default "all Pictures" smart Album to behave this way. (like it did until today).

As far as I know, it is normal behaviour for the All Images smart folder to show both RAW and JPG (and TIFF if you have them) files. So I suspect that there was something odd going on before. As you say, you can create a smart album that shows all raw images instead of all images.

Thanks Ian.
Yes, you can select in the Setup menu that all types of imported Pictures are shown. So you may Import TIFF or JPG as well and they will be shown in the browser. No Problem with that.
But now it Shows the JPGs from the Output Folder . This makes no sense. You usually don´t work on your processed results, but on your imported files only.

Maybe so, but that is how the All Images folder usually works.

I'm not on Windows 10 so this is a pure guess.
For anyone "Roundtripping" images and using C1 as a DAM (especially catalogue users) I seem to recall that the need to have roundtripped outputs displayed is important and was not always as automatic as people would have liked.
Using Win 7, for example, I often find that images I have downloaded do not always immediately appear in application browsers (or even Windows explorer) when expected.
I guess it is possible that something has changed in Windows related to "seeing" the contents of subfolders?
Tom,
Are you using catalogs or sessions?
There may be some sort of combination of changes that has meed the Output folder(s) visible unexpectedly.

I am using sessions. Straightforward workflow as recommended by PO:
- Create a new session with unique systematic folder name (date_topic), Default session Setup and Folder structure created by CO.
- Import raw from Sony Alpha 700 and sometimes additional JPGs from Olympus Tough.
- all Imports go to "Capture" Folder (Standard CO) in subfolders with a date_time Name of the Import
- all processed results go to "Output" Folder (usually JPGs).
Until yesterday, the browser did not Show the files from Output Folder if "all Images" smart Folder is selected, which makes perfect sense to me.
Now, after processing a raw file the browser Shows the resulting JPG (stored in the Output Folder) right below the raw.
Is this the expected behaviour?

Yes, it's the way it usually works.

Win 7 and C1 9.3 only shows processed images after closing and re-opening a session and then only if the image is in either the "Image Folder" (one of the process options) or the first level of the Output folder, not in a sub folder.
However if I have output files in a sub folder of "Outputs" and specifically open that subfolder (and thereby associate it with the session as a favourite) the jpg files (or tiff, etc.) will appear unless I have filtered them out using one of the several methods available.
So I suspect that a windows behaviour change has also had some sort of effect on Capture One assuming there has been no other settings change in C1 that may have slipped in in some way without you recognising it at the time.
You could raise a Support Case with C1 to check with them as to whether they have seen the change and expect it to work as it does.
HTH.
