Processing location

Can you help me understand the use of this tool "Output location" ?
The directory that I specify here stays always empty.

My version : 9.0.3 for Windows.
I'm working with sessions and I would like to define common treatments for all sessions.

  Expand the PROCESS RECIPE section and select the "File" tab.
  
  Is the Root Folder set to "Output Location" ?

  The action described by Richard is one way.
  
  I'm doing a bit different. Just click on the arrow down of the Store Files where it says in your screen shot "Capture One". This opens a window which says on its end "Choose". Click and then a browser window opens and you can get to you desired output location (which also can be created in this process). I have all my processed files in a specific main folder origanized in sub folders according to the specific shooting.
