Sharpening and pattern moire

Hi, I'm just wondering if anything has changed in the way capture one sharpens images?
For most of this year I've found that if I do any sharpening to images, particularly of suits at a wedding, the pattern moire is instantly noticeable. Turn off sharpening and it's gone. I know there are some suits out there that will always generate this problem but I'm finding every wedding, even with suits I've never had trouble with before now have this problem and I'm having to selectively sharpen all images which is time consuming.

  And have you tried using the Moire tool (in the Details tool tab)?

  Are you viewing at 100%?
  
  If not try that to see if it makes any difference. Probably also worth checking what things look like after processing to, say, jpg and/or printing if you have not already done so.

  It's printing where it's a problem really, it will show up on all prints unless I remove sharpness from the suit. It's weird how I never used to have this problem, nothing else has changed
  
  The moire tool doesn't help as that's more for colour than pattern moire I believe.

  Have you upgraded C1 at some point before you noticed this difference - from 10 to 11 for example, not just a release uodate?

  I've only noticed it since upgrading from a previous version, I'm going to try installing an older version to see if I get the same results

  Depending on which version you upgraded from there may well have been some changes to the controls for sharpening that may be affecting your output.
  
  For example the Process tool allows for different sharpening methods for screen and printing (where you are producing an output file intended for printing later) and the Print tool has a slider for adjusting the amount of sharpening to be applied (although I think this has been around for a while).
  
  Also the processing approach of the engine may have changed in ways that affect the results of your normal editing activities due to improvements and additional flexibility from editing features. The changes from V10 to V11, depending on how you normally do things, may not have been so great to introduce a huge difference but if you have moved from V9 or maybe V8 then you could be jumping across several basic changes and enhancements that might make things look very different.
  
  THere may be ways to run a comparison - you could for example have C1 run with the previous processing engine to investigate differences - but whether that would be a good use of your time is not something that is possible to comment about as we don't know your pre-upgrade starting point.
