I want to stop and dump a process Que. but can't

How do you stop the processing of lots of images when you realize you made a mistake. How do you then start a new process without the old one continuing? Is there a way to dump the Que.? I can stop the recipe, quit CO 9.1 and restart it and it still wants to finish the old recipe before starting the new one. What am I not getting?

  Go to the Que Tab ...the three gears... Press stop. Select the file names in the process cue and hit delete.
  That will remove them. Then you will need to restart the cue after you have selected the new process. It may have stalled and will need to restart.
