"Set as Compare variant" improvement.
The Compare Item feature [ from menu: Edit > Set as Compare variant ] is a great and indispensable tool for photos catalog shooting and i use it intensively to keep consistency between view angles, lights, angles, scales, etc..
It has been greatly improved from v. 5.1 by not throwing away the image set as Compare variant when deleting other selected images.
- But still that reference image is not fully independent or enough “out of the game†as i would like it to be.
For example when applying Rating or Color tag on other images, it gets too the same rating or color tag, replacing the ones that has been set on it previously, if any. ☹️
It will be of great help if that Compare variant stays beyond reach (always or partially; an option could customize this), just as a shadow image to refer to.
- Also it seems that there is a slight contrast difference presentation in the viewer between an image Set as Compare variant and its exact copy following (digital copy or same shot with zero changes in settings and proper strobe recharge time).
I have been checking and verifying this on 3 different displays and computers and it always seems that following captures look always a bit “brighter†or slightly with more contrast than the Compare variant.
Hard to trust the tool for consistency then...
- And last but not least, it will be perfect if we could set up more than one image at a time as Compare variant.
Yes, 3, 4, 5... images set as references to be able to compare between them and the next capture to come without destroying their "jury panel" status, like it will happen if simply selected.
Thank’s in advance for your comments.
