Importing from external Drive

Trying to import images from my Mac Time Machine into C1 but I get the following msg.

“Session folder "/Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/etc etc./ is not writable. Please choose another session folder.â€

Is this operation not possible please ???

  Not a Time Machine geek myself (I apologize for my ignorance), my main question is did you restore from time machine first? I don't think you can open a session from Time Machine directly. TM does not allow you to write to it (which CO needs to be able to open a session).
