Exceeded activations -- HELP
I sent this information to Capture One Support and got a link on how to deactivate C1Pro -- which I knew how to do.
My OS (Windows 7 Pro) was acting up and I had to reload several pieces of software that were damaged, including C1Pro Ver. 7, and did NOT have a chance to deactivate it. After reloading C1Pro Ver. 7 and activating it, Windows was still not working quite right and I tried to repair Windows and it could not be repaired.
Next, I attempted a full restore using a full (not incremental) Acronis backup from when Windows was working perfectly and Windows then totally crashed -- could NOT repair it from booting to the original Windows installation disk. I did not deactivate C1Pro7 because I assumed that the Acronis backup would restore Windows 7 instead of totally crashing Windows 7 and thus I did not deactivate C1Pro7 again.
I replaced the OS/Program drive with a new one and reloaded Windows 7 Pro and the software and when I went to reactivate Capture 1 Pro, I got an error message stating that I had exceeded the allowed number of reactivations which I understood.
I am a 67 year old retired school teacher and do NOT pirate software and my copy of C1Pro Ver. 7 has never been used on any other computer. I am in need of another activation and cannot afford to purchase another copy. I explained this to Capture One Support and all they did was send me directions on how to deactivate C1.
How can I get them to actually read and understand the issue -- I sent a reply to their reply in which I re-explained the situation and that I already knew how to deactivate their software.
Any suggestions to solutions to my dilemma -- this is painful... 🤭
Thanks,
MikeSp

You can deactivate all your licenses from your profile on phaseone.com. that will free your 2 activations, and you can then activate on your computers once more. 0 -

Hi,
Have the same problem. Installed on my new PC Win 7 and activation worked fine. New Win 8 installed and activation worked fine.
Opened Cature 7 yesterday and was told it was a Trial.
Went to my profile to deactivate - not working.

Nor should you.
Create a support case and provide the Product Key. We'll look into it but there is likely a very simple explanation.0 -

You have 4 unique ID's.
For you they may all have seems to be the same box and screen but if you updated anything within the system we see that as a new computer, hence a new ID. So every time you updated RAM, HD, Graphic Card, etc, it becomes a "new" computer.0
