The Spacebar navigator - Ain't that something
I have been a user of COP7 for some time now.
Whenever I worked on a zoomed-in view in the viewer I was always puzzled that there are no scrollbars available to alter the viewport. I'd locate the Navigator tool on a tooltab to move around. I found it cumbersome.
Yesterday I accidentally hit the spacebar while in viewer mode. Up popped a mini navigator, in which one can mouse around to alter the viewport. Now there's a great feature.
I guess you all knew about this, that it is just me being thick. Is it mentioned in the documentation though?
Cheers,
Mogens

I stumbled across this a few weeks ago but on my machine the control functionality is limited to seeing the rectangle for the area of the image currently in view and a single click that centres the view. (Although on the very first use in a session it sort of hints there may be more functionality available).
It could indeed be useful but I also find that the Hand Tool (Key H) covers most needs. Or pop up the Viewer (F10) though that probably works most effectively only when running multiple screens.
And you are right, it doesn't seem to be documented - at least not in a way that an obvious search on "space" or "spacebar" or a few other search terms could find.

Mogens,
I am seeing the same thing but other than centring the "current area" box nothing else seems to be a possibility for moving the box when using the touch pad.
However with a scroll wheel mouse attached the option becomes rather nicely functional.
I may need to revisit my touchpad software to see if I have missed an option to turn on a "make it like a mouse" function rather than a gesture recognising device.
I agree about your changing tools observation but so long as the tool you need to go back to has a short cut key it is only one key stroke, so things could be worse.
