On1 adds an alpha channel to the image when it saves it, and Capture One can't handle images with an alpha channel so it displays the "!" symbol. The "fix" is to remove the alpha channel in an external program, at which time Capture One will display it correctly. On a Mac, you can open the tiff file in Preview, select "Save As...", and then uncheck the "Alpha" checkbox. If you have Keyboard Maestro, I have a macro that will do this for you (select the image in C1, hit the macro invocation key, and it will launch Preview and save the file without an alpha channel).

I've logged a trouble report with both Capture One and On1, but I'm not holding my breath for a fix. More problem report submissions from others may add some weight to this...

Yes, that is the problem. A little cumbersome since you have to "sync" the folder and preview has "export" rather than "save as", but it works. I also found that if I send a jpg file it works also. I will send to both C1 and ON1 a trouble report. Holding breath can be hazardous to your health and causes headaches. Thanks for your knowledge and input.

Hold down the option key in the file menu and "Duplicate" will change to "Save As", so you don't have to do an export. You may have to change the extension since C1 uses "tif" and preview will use "tiff".

It would be very useful for users if this information here was captured in the manual.
