Updated DNG files not showing up in thumbnail previews
Hi there,
I'm a long time user of the software - ever since the iView MediaPro days - and absolutely love it. But I've hit a problem that I just can't seem to solve. All of a sudden the software doesn't seem to be reading the XMP files in my DNGs properly. If I make a bunch of changes in Camera Raw and then convert to DNG, the thumbnail previews in MediaPro only show the original RAW file out of the camera. It's as if they're ignoring the XMP files altogether. If I then open up the DNG files in Photoshop (from MediaPro) and make some wacky changes - like weird colour balance etc - and then Rebuild the Item in Media Pro it doesn't show any of these changes. What has happened? I don't remember changing anything and it's happening all of a sudden. Anybody got any ideas?

Looks like I might be the only one experiencing this problem? I just checked back over my files and it was working up until the 29th January and then went funny on me. I updated iTunes on that day and wondering if that has something to do with it. 0 -
Since I don't use DNGs, I can't comment.
Re date comment - I vaguely recall that a couple of years ago (?) I updated a db program or tried a new program with a db and experienced problems with MP. A reinstall of MP fixed the problem.0 -
Even if we are not a Adobe support, we can chip in since I have had this question a few time.
It is almost always that the DNG WIC (Windows Image Codec) is missing or acting up.
Install Adobe DNG WIC 2.0 form here

Yep, the Adobe DNG code fixed the problem. Strange that it was working and then suddenly stopped working. I guess my computer must have automatically updated some part of Photoshop without me knowing it. Cheers for the help. 0
