Sudden Tethering issues 5d Mark iii
Was using 8.01 just fine for 2 days. Tethering worked smoothly and consistently. Then it stopped on a shoot.
I have since tried uninstalling, reinstalling capture 7, and changing cords.
I am able to shoot tethered with same computer/cable/camera with lightroom(but id rather not).
Why did this suddenly go bad? I changed nothing(that I know of)...?
Specs:
Canon 5d mark iii
late 2013 macbook pro
capture 8.01
Would love to hear some good news soon on this. Please.

Are you running OSX 10.9.5 ? 0 -
Yes I am. 0 -
With CO7, are you using 7.2.3 or 7.2.4? I ask this because the Canon SDK used in these releases is identical and also the same to 8.0 and 8.0.1. Earlier versions of CO7 use earlier versions of the SDK. Of course it may not be SDK related. Just trying. 0 -
You're the 3rd person i've heard of with this issue on 10.9.5 /8,01, try the following;
- Turn off any OpenCL acceleration under Preferences>General (default is off).
- Turn off 'Nikon' support in Prefs and restart the app.
- Remove all memory cards from your camera.
- Try a short USB cable.
- Run a 'permissions' check on your mac from Disk Utility.
- Run a 'Verify Disk' with Disk Utility.
If nothing works, open a support ticket. One of the above helped out a client of mine.
