Cursor tool shortcuts

Do you mean you are using the Version's Default settings for shortcut keys?

Or default but personalised perhaps in V10?

To accomodate the new and revised functionality in some areas the available options for shortcuts have changed a little although maybe not the things you have mentioned.

However it might be worth looking into the differences if you have not already done so.

Does the revised approach to layers functionality come into this in any way?

Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't apparently at random.

So I'm looking for the circumstances under which they don't work. Like my example of if the cursor is in a field or not.

I think it's always been that way, it just bugs me more with dual monitors.

Which display window has current focus will certainly be a factor in some cases.

This reflects my experience, too. Sometimes it remains unclear for me why a shortcut is not being accepted.

Working with dual monitors I got used to paying always attention to on which monitor my cursor is currently positioned and to press cmd + < to set the C1 window on the other monitor as active - when needed - prior to executing a shortcut via the keyboard.

I am working with a "ShuttlePro v2" from Contour Design and added the escape command to every keystroke assigned to a button (by a short macro routine) just to be sure the command will be executed regardless if the cursor's position is in a data field or not. This resolves at least a part of the problems I had.

In addition, It would be easier if C1 windows on both monitors would always accept shortcut commands - I could not figure out so far why this sometimes does not work as wanted.

And I am curious to know how the Tangent Devices (like Element e. g.) might handle this!

    Hi Olyver

Well the Tangent can fake a single keypress so you'd be setting one button to Esc and a second to Cmd + < and a third to O (for spots) so I don't think that helps much!

In the Windows version of C1 10 there are various ways in which tool fields can steal the input focus.

This means that Cursor tool shortcuts or image navigation keys become useless.

I would have expected that this has been fixed in version 11.
