Sony a7rII profile needs improvement?
Anyone else feel this way? The default color coming into C1P 9.2 is terrible to me.
I felt C1P Canon rendering was really good. But now I'm all in on Sony - love the DR.
I would love some improvement soon - what I see on the camera LCD looks good but its embarrassing having a client over your shoulder and seeing what the baked in C1P profile makes of it. I shoot architecture with all types of lighting situations so I can't just make a custom starting profile like say a fashion photographer could.

There is no "one-size fits all", when it comes to ICC-profiles. Especially if the light sources change. CO Profiles are made for use in daylight (so 5300k - 5700K) with a full, uninterrupted spectrum of light
I will suggest that you look into the Advanced Color Editor and the Film Curves. Set the Film Curves you like the most as the new Default for your camera, and then use the Advanced Color Editor to edit the Colors to your liking.0 -
Edward,
Is this one of the cameras with both a Generic and a Standard profile?
If so, does your observation apply to both?

Yes - there is no difference between standard and generic - both poor.0 -

Hmm.
"Standard" is primarily the Sony profile. See previous thread here:

Have you considered starting with a Linear Response Curve and defining your own settings?0 -

You need to clearly define what "terrible" means to you, Edward.
Because:I felt C1P Canon rendering was really good
A lot of us would strongly disagree with that observation...0
