Renumbering error
I have encountered a problem when renaming files in 3.7 for Mac.
My files are auto-renamed while downloading - e.g. \"Smith_0001.CR2\", \"Smith_0002.CR2\".
I then go through and move some files to the Trash. I then want to rename the files again to remove the gaps in the numbering sequence. However, if I use the same name and number of digits, the renumbering is often incorrect - e.g. C1 Pro will start the numbering from \"0014\" instead of \"0001\". If I change the name and/or number of digits (e.g. to \"Smith_wedding_0001.CR2\" or \"Smith_01.CR2\", the renumbering works fine.
It seems as if Capture One has a problem with reusing a name and number format that is already in use within the same session.
I visited the Phase One stand at the MacDesign Expo in Tampa last week and we were able to reproduce this on a demo computer, so I know it is not specific to my machine...

Welcome to the forum. I hope you are well and enjoying paradise! Julie and I have fond memories...
It is worth changing the number format at the second renumber stage to avoid confusion. We go with a an innitial long file name with both the camera and session numbers and then rename the final selection with a simpler name number combination. We then can instantly tell if an image is a selected one by the length of it's file name. Having different captures with the same name in different folders of the same session is a recipe for disaster and I expect this is why C1 is configured this way.
It would be great if we could drag and drop thumbnails to new positions prior to the rename. I've made a feature request so I hope this will apear in future versions.
