Capture One 5 and DNG handling

I'm quite a long time user of C1 Pro and i've always wondered what's the benefit of converting your files in the DNG format, since C1 Pro doesn't aply its settings to the DNG file and doesn't even include those settings in the JPEG preview of the exported DNG file. So, what's the interest of adding this format given that the DNG handling in Capture One is not as the creators of this format intended it to be ? Well, seriously, the exported DNG file should cary all metadata in a XMP space and should have a preview file which is reflecting the changes made in Capture One. Furthermore, as one loads a DNG file created in ACR or LR into Capture One, the application shows the original rendering for a few seconds and replaces it by C1 Pro's proper interpretation. Well, to be frank, as it is implemented in C1, using the DNG format has no obvious avantages over using proprietary RAW formats....
I'm using Expression Media and as soon as Phase One implements proper DNG file handling into C1Pro, i'll be happily using it, but meanwhile i'll prefer other, really DNG savy applications as main raw converters.

    Well, that's wrong, C1 does that, you're well be able to convert a C2 or NEF into a DNG file. The real problem is that the settings are not "sticky"... Why not just keeping to open DNG camera files and suppress DNG export to avoid confusion ?
