Convert fully imported images to referenced?
Live and learn - should have committed to memory the important aspects of the C1 7 catalog function. So now I have 117 GB of copied images that should have been imported as referenced. Some of my imports were referenced, and most are full copies.
I don't mind deleting what's in the catalog and re-importing. My concern is how (and if possible) to do that without losing the C1 7 (and prior version) adjustments I've made to my developed photos.
If the best answer is leave it alone - I can live with the wasted space and do the imports correctly from here on in.
Thanks for considering this issue.

Hi Baxter1,
As you discovered images imported into the catalog can be either fully managed (stored inside) or referenced (stored external to the catalog).
You can change that state for each image after import.
This is done by dragging an image from one catalog folder to another. Catalog folders can be found in the Library tool, Folders section. In the Folders section you find the Catalog object and disk/folder objects you have imported images from. The Catalog object contains the fully managed images, the disk/folder objects the referenced images.
Moving out
When you want to make fully managed images referenced, first add the disk/folder you like the images to reside to the catalog. Click on the "+" sign on the Folders header and add the disk/folder. Next, select the Catalog object, select the images to move and drag the selection to the added folder.
Moving in
When you want to make referenced images fully managed, you reverse the procedure described above. This is even easier because all folder objects are already in place.
Select the disk/folder, select the images to move and drag them to the Catalog folder object.
Moving between disk/folders
You also can move referenced images from one disk/folder to another. The procedure is the same as describe above under 'Moving out'.
Please backup you entire catalog before doing extensive move operations. Do a verify before and after the operations (from File menu).
If you like to run a test first, create a new catalog with a few images and start moving.0 -
I will give your procedure a try, and thanks very much for the time to write it. 0
