To implement a camera is not 10min work, there is quite alot more involved.
Samsung camera is on the list of cameras that is pending on being supported but why it still is not is really quite simple, Canon, Nikon etc outsell Samsung many times over and that is why it has a higher priority.
Of course our highest priority is always our own camera backs but that pretty much is a given.

Because pef from Samsung GX-1S have identical structure like Pentax *ist DS or Pentax *ist DL support for this camera should be simple and fast.

    Today Im use converter.

This simple program change name in pef headers to *ist Pentax DS and I can use CO 4.1 for test.

    Im be tired this.

Im like use CO 4.1 directly without any convert.

Pentax K20 and Pentax K200D are supported one month after premiere.

My camera after 2 years of it premiere are not supported??

Pentax and Samsung cooperate and relases identical cameras under different names.

    Pentax K10D = Samsung GX-10
    Pentax K20D = Samsung GX-20

First of my problem Im write to support on 31. Jul 2007 !!!!
    Second 27. Dec 2007
    Next 07. Feb 2008
Next Im write about it 14. Mar 2008
    Last Today 15. May 2008

    Im wait too long.

All my cases are finished without solution of my problem!!!

Im hope this post is last in this theme and my GX-1S are supported in version CO 4.11 😊

    Best regards Marek Koteluk

I would like also ask when we can expect support for Samsung cameras in C1? For example Samsung GX-1S is the same camera as Pentax *ist DS2 so I cannot imagine any difficulties in implementing support for this camera in program. Program have to only recognize header of PEF/DNG file, contain the same colours profile as DS2 and contain position in menu!
Please allow C1 programmers to work one hour on this project 😐

    Hello,
Could you tell us when we can expect update of CO with support for Samsung GX-1s = Pentax *ist DS2, or are you waiting till we (users of GX-1S, GX-1L) die? 😕 😊
I have sent several RAW (PEF) files to support on November, because you have told me that you do not have examples to work on.
Are there any news in this case?

Alex, w/ all due respect the users of GX-1x cameras are not a big spot in a picture (for P1)... moreover several years after the release (of the said cameras)... and it is not one man hour - they still need to test how C1 will work w/ those raw files even if it means only a several bytes of the code and even if everybody agrees that there are no difference between Pentax and Samsung raw files for those models... I patch my .RW2 files from LX3 and I am happy that way.

I am interested but it seems that Phase One is not intrested in this problem. Now they released CO 4.7 and support of Samsung Camera is still missing. I don't know if there is any hope they can finalize it someday.

So we see next new version of C1 and there are still no support for Samsung cameras.
Please give us program which recognizes PEF files from GX-1S/GX-1L as they are the same cameras as Pentax *ist DS2/*ist DL2 cameras! This is really not much of work.

Samsung cameras might have different CFA for example = different ICM profile... so just patch the files to look like Pentax files and make yourself an ICM profile using IT8 or Colorchecker targets to be sure that you will get the right colors.

    Hello,
Could you please write something more about such checking? And what is CFA?

We still did not get support from Phase One for Samsung cameras.
