I would second that, I have been using Capture 4.2 and it is not a good alternative.

Hope C1Pro 3.7 will come not only with generic D2X profile.

It is a pity we can't get a upgrade version like 3.6.2 reading D2X.
I want to use C1 (-> buy one) as Capture is not that great at the moment.

    I wait ... patiently

We could call it 3.6.2 as well but 3rd digit would mean it is a service release only including fixes. In this case we have new features like support for Nikon D2X and Tethered support for Canons which will mean that according to versioning convention the second digit should move up, in this case the version will be called 3.7 when this is to follow version 3.6.1.

Will the new version also be able to work with the D2x and the WT-2 so you can shoot untethered like you can using the WT-2 and Nikon Capture 4.2?

It will not support any kind of tethered way with Nikon, only Canon.
I do not know the WT-2, but the Canon wi-fi utility you just set it up to a coputer, the folder is defined as a FTP foled (Mac system preferences -> Sharing, Windows Controlpanel, Administrive tool, Internet INformation service) Import this folder to Capture One and the images shows up as you shoot them.

Please forgive me, but I am not very familiar with Capture software, so the answer to my question may be obvious to those who are more familiar with your software.

So, do I understand that Capture will not work in a tethered mode with a Nikon SLR, whether it be the D1x or the new D2x, and only can do so with the Canon SLR?

    Thanks.

If you are refering to shooting directly in to the computer with Capture One then the anser is no, only Canon (All supported EOS from 3.7) and Phase One camera backs. you can still utilize Nikon Capture to control the camera and use a shared folder with Capture One. Meaning Nikon Capture will handle the camera and the images will show up in Capture One.

I am using the D2X with the WT-2A transmitter along with Nikon Capture 4.2 so I can shoot wirelessly. I have to admit, it is nice not being tethered to the camera. If I can use Capture to do my editing, by as you stated, using a shared folder then I am encouraged.

And it is my understanding, that a new version of Capture that will be able to handle raw files from the D2X, won't be available until May.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

How does one get a chance to beta test the version 3.7? I am obviously a registered user.

    Many thanks.

Thanks Herrstedt. Over the weekend I had to process 600 D2X RAW files with NC. I'm still recovering!!
