Gradient Layer adjustment not sticking?

Something seems wrong.

I make a gradient adjustment layer and I'm finding that it corrects, but I then do something else, and when I return to the layer and highlight it, the adjustment isn't there (e.g. The Exposure, which I've changed, is greyed out, along with all the other adjustments that I haven't)

Anyone else having problems?

Maybe I'm not doing it properly, but I thought it used to work OK. It has been a while since I've used it.

  Hi,
  
  the relation masked area-correction values is specific to a certain layer. So when you get greyed out entries you're possibly on the Backgroung layer. Or you're on a new correction layer w/o any masking defined yet. Make sure to turn the layer where you want to work on the active one (and to have it checked in front to have the correction applied).
