Moving media to a bigger HD

Hi,

I want to move all my media to a bigger hard drive.

What is the best way to do it so I don't lose catalog information?

  1. Be sure all your photo data is under 1 main folder first (your present hard drive)
  2. Then create the same main folder on the new drive
  3. Copy the content from the old main folder to the new (with Syncback i.e. this free program does have a integrity check so you're sure all the data is copied correcly)
  4. Start Media Pro and go into the organize pane
  5. Under Catalog Folders (left/under) right click on your main folder and choose the option 'reset folder paht'
  6 Now choose your new main folder
  7. When everything is OK you can clean up your old drive now
