Needs Plugin Support
I recently just started using Capture One Pro 10. I have been using Lightroom starting with version one. Capture One has many wonderful capabilities, but it appears to be missing a key one: plugin support. This is an important feature in my workflow and without it, I will probably only be able to use Capture One for tethered photo sessions. I urge the Capture One developers to add this capability as soon as is possible.
Perhaps it does have this capability and I have missed it in the tutorials I have watched. If that is the case, I would appreciate knowing how to utilize plugins like I am currently able to do in Lightroom.

What plugins do you want supported?
There is "Edit with" and "Open with" to support passing to and external editor such as Photoshop, NIK Filters, Topaz Labs filters etc.0 -
As mentioned, Edit with and Open with will do the same thing as LR. Remember that image is converted to a bitmap if using Edit With (just as with LR, btw). 0 -
I am using Photomatix Pro. Neither Capture One's "open with" or "edit with" are satisfactory.
Lightroom supports plugins, so what takes place in LR is not replicated by Capture One's "open with" or "edit with" commands. In LR, when I select 5 bracketed exposures and select "export - Photomatix Pro", I am presented with the Photomatix Dialog box that allows me to set parameters for the file export to Photomatix. Then when I click export, LR does the raw conversions using any adjustments I made in LR, and passes the processed files off to Photomatix. No actual files are created, just the digital information is passed off to Photomatix. The whole process is seamless.
The best I can do in Capture One is export the bracketed exposures as 16 bit tiffs and then using Photomatix open these files. Then, because they waste space, delete the 16 bit tiff files. This process is slower than using the Photomatix plugin in LR.
This is why plugin support is needed in Capture One.0
