How to rename folder?

Please don't tell me I have to rename it in the Finder and then Locate it each time. That might be a deal breaker for me.

It looks like it. But you can create and delete folders from within CO8. 😄

Here and there it is missing small but useful features. At least for me those are not a big deal. It takes a bit to get used to Capture One and to develop a new workflow. I am seeing it as a good moment to improve my workflow and re-organize my image library.

Further, the import options are limited. If I could at least have it automatically create a folder per photo date instead of i port date, then some of my org problems would be solved.

Maybe I'll have to use Bridge and Adobe Photo Importer to import and build folders, rnema them on the HD, then import at that point. I really don't see that as a better workflow than how Lightroom does it and allows me to rename right in the program.

I do love CO's RAW engine though.

A post I saw somewhere in here today suggested that may be something coming fairly soon.

Yes, I was missing that too. In the past I just had them all organized in year > month > day folders and Aperture organized them like that for me during import or when relocating files. But I've changed my workflow now. In Capture One I now import into the catalog and then manually create folders per shoot (usually those are on the same day) and move them into the folder. A bit more manual work but it feels better organized now like that.

I think that's what I'm going to do too. The only problem...about 60,000 images to re-sort.

If you import from Aperture, then you can keep the existing structure. No reason to re-sort.

But actually I am doing that just to get my library better organized. Of course not just by creating the folders but also by checking and updating meta-data, organizing them in albums etc. Just like spring cleaning.

As Aperture is still working I don't migrate all +100K images at once but do it in batches and so far have migrated about 15.000 images and of course all new images are now directly going into Capture One.

I migrated my Aperture to Lightroom (again...was originally Lightroom moved to Aperture) about a year ago. Now, after seeing just how amazing CO8's RAW engine is, I'm nearly 100% sold on CO.

My move from Aperture to Lightroom cost me adjustments and reorganization. I had converted all my adjusted images to TIFFs when I did that move to Lightroom. Now I'm just happy that many adjustments come over from Lightroom to CO. Reorg is easy enough--just a change of "policy" for me more than anything.

    Thanks again!
