can't place windows where I want on 2nd monitor

Just upgraded to 5.0 and now the individual adjustment panels won't stick to the top half of my palettes monitor, they keep bouncing back down to just over half-way up. I can however place them wherever I want on my main monitor, but that rather defeats the purpose of having a palette monitor. Anyone have any ideas? thanks

  I am seeing this as well but slightly different.
  
  I have a setup where my second monitor is directly above my main monitor. I cannot get floating panels to go up to the second monitor at all. They always snap back to the top of the first. It seems like maybe they will refuse to go above the osx menu bar?
  
  Is your second monitor set up so that half of it is above the menu bar of the main monitor? (in system prefs / displays / arrangement)

  That's a bug.
  
  Workaround:
  If you arrange your displays (in System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement) so the top edge of the 2nd monitor is not above the Main monitor, it should work.
