Creating Variant: Put focus on new variant not original file

When you create a new variant, the concept of 'original file' versus the other does not exist anymore. Both variants are different views (with distinct adjustments if you want) from one original file. That is the idea.

Maybe you'd like Capture One select the other variant by default after you create a new one. There is no preference or preset that controls that.

Thanks for the help Paul, bummer. I typically create a cloned variant and then want to start working from that point on the new one, I have to always remember to click on the new one, it would save time and be consistent w/ my workflow.

I will submit a feature request for this.

I might have just miss understood your question, but there is the promote, demote, and pick variant options for the variants. If you were to promote the new variant it will become the default front variant to select.

Thanks... that I don't believe fits what I am trying to accomplish. I will try and explain it again here, if I misunderstood your advice, I apologize.

What I am trying to accomplish is after creating a new variant, that the new variant is the "active" variant not the original. I mainly create a clone variant and I want to work on the new variant from where I left off from working on the original. If I forget to select the new variant upon creating it I screw my order up in the workflow.
