Surely you didn't think that they would meet their own timeline.

I've been predicting January release. This looks like it is going to be close.

As much as I like this product, it is evident that CO are not customer focussed, at least in this end of their product line. How can they come out with the RAW converter what will be a couple of months after the other less expensive ones have.

Starting to lose faith quickly and starting to really like RSP.

But is this not a lie? I mean really??? If I don't keep my word. When it was time to pay them for the software there was no waiting arownd. What is RSP?

I thought they said Fall 2005. Most of the time they wrote the 4.Q.05. But I also think that we will see the update next year.

RSP stands for RawShooter premium 2006 from www.pixmantec.com .

So is this the company I bought into? I pay you for up to date software. You promise me updates (on time) like I have to be with my clients. Right Keith? But you dont even bother to answer me on your forum?????

Your lucky, very few other forums get an answer to such information requests.

Wait until mid to late November.

    spiritman,

Did you actually think that the answer to your question would change if you asked it another 8 times all over the Forum?
You were given the best answer available at the time you asked. This answer is posted and updated on the front page of the web site www.phasone.com

I’ve been catching up on some interesting reading in the news lately about how our Society has such a high expectation for Immediate Gratification. There have been some great studies from academia showing this to be a global trend.

Because we're so heavily into immediate gratification, our present selves are always leading us to do things our long-run selves will regret.\"
Want immediate gratification? Don't worry, its normal

So, you are not alone in wanting immediate support for newly released cameras, but others seem to be coping with this a little better. And yes, other software already supports Canons new cameras, but be sure to listen to your Logical Brain. The results, as always, will be well worth the wait.

    So, once again...
CAMERA SUPPORT IN UPCOMING CAPTURE ONE - 3.7.3 RELEASE EARLY DECEMBER
Read about the support for the new Canon EOS 5D and 1D MK II N and other cameras in upcoming versions of Capture One.

    http://www.phaseone.com/Content/Softwar ... pport.aspx

There was never an exact date given, and there never will be, only a timeframe of which this one has always been Q4 2005. Therefore, no promises have been breached.
We in Support really don't know What Gives but using logic would say that the release was not ready for November, more time was needed, and more time was taken in order to have the next version update truly ready.

    Very Sincerely,
    kc

The Phase One main site says Capture One Pro 3.7.2 is available.
    But where?

Thanks Keith, for a very frank response.

Time will tell whether or not the wait is worth it. I can only say from my experience that when 3.7 came out and it kept hanging, I would create a trouble report and was told nothing wrong and I reinstalled 3 times and each time the same result. It was not so much the fact that it appeared to have a bug in it, but the attitude in the responses to me were arrogant and demeaning. It thought it odd that as soon as a maintnenance release came out this problem went away without so much as an acknowledgement. What I am trying to convey here is that you have a group of customers that deserve some respect and without those customers you are nothing. I do believe that your message in this thread was warranted as the responses were getting a little out of hand, especially given that some of them were posted over a weekend.

So back to customer service. I certainly do prefer to use C1. For the first time in awhile, I believe that you have a viable competitor in Raw Shooter. It builds its previews incredibly fast, is easy to use and is very affordable. Even lowly breezebrowser was able to come out with the support for the new camera formats in a reasonable time frame. Having said all of this, I would hope that the next release gives us something more than just the new format support. To wait this long for just that will be disappointing to say the least. Whenever you do release please ensure that you have done your quality control, I don't want to have to go through the same thing as I did with the initial release of 3.7.

As much as RSP is filling the void for me in the short term with my 5D (I'm not a fan of the Canon software), I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of C1.

Take a stresstab spiritman. I don't think anyone is thrilled, including Keith, that it is taking this long to bring the updates out. I don't see any reason to make it personal against Keith. Now if I called you a dork, which I'm not, but I could, would it accomplish anything....no.

It's only avaible for MAC. I think we will don't see a 3.7.2 for Windows. The next version will be 3.7.3.

Yes, Next update for Capture One Windows will become v3.7.3

and now I believe it is time for a Reality Check...

    spiritman,
My postings absolutely, positively are not ever to insult anyone, and should not be interpreted this way whatsoever. The only role I have here is to be as supportive of Customers as I possibly can be. When I see postings multiple times in a row with no question asked, inappropriate remarks and calling me out by name, I respond as honestly and sincerely as I can. This is exactly what I did here.

This is a User Forum where Ideas and Information is exchanged in a constructive manner for the benefit of Phase One customers. The Rules of the Forum are clearly posted for all to read. Sometime we lose perspective on what this Forum is all about and what it can accomplish, and I suggest a review of the Rules.

    Rule 10:
10 Do not post a message merely to blow off steam or otherwise get something off your chest. This is a support, user to user help and resource area, if you have something to take up with a dealer then take it up with a dealer, if you have something to take up with Phase One then please take it up with Phase One.

What this means is that this Forum is not a Whiners Blog, or a place to continue to ask questions that have been answered or for questions that have no answer.

The question was asked when will Capture One support the new Canon 5D?
The answer was and remains 4th Quarter of 2005. There should have been no further postings.
In an effort to offer a little more information to insistent Users, I passed on a projected hope and expectation of the update possibly becoming available in November. It did not happen. Back to original answer... 4th Quarter of 2005

    End of Subject.
    Sincerely,
    kc

keith you said \"My postings absolutely, positively are not ever to insult anyone, and should not be interpreted this way whatsoever.\" Well I was and still am insulted by you. Just because you tell me not too be. Doesn't excuse your coments (IMHO). Since we are talking about my feelings here I think I should know best. Right?
Also \"When I see postings multiple times in a row with no question asked,\" over how long was this? With no answer from you?
I really dont know what the inappropriate remarks were. All I want is what you said you were going to have.
And \"calling me out by name\" your the man here aren't you? I mean you run this. So who should I have talked to?
Because of your coments about the release time I bought this software. Now I had to but the other software (PRS http://www.pixmantec.com/). To meet my customers dates. That is why this bug's me. Maybe $99 is nothing to you, but it still is to me. Sorry if you misunderstood my post's
    I am really quite calm.....
    Just disappointed

I must say that I am disappointed as well. I do professional wedding photography on the side but my main job is in the tech sector. We provide a major PC component. If Microsoft came out with a new standard or new operating system, we know we must provide up to date drivers on the date Microsoft releases their software. No question about it. We can not tell our customers it will be a few months. If the software is behind schedule, then we absolutely do not promise our customers a specific date we can not keep (this mainly though applies to beta software from Microsoft).
