Really do you not see all the "I cant tether since updating C1 or OS" posts 😄

My thing is syncing workspaces and keyboard shortcuts etc. I might have to write something for it.

I've been a equally big critic and supportor of C1P over the years - but this is a terrible idea.
All too often a new version breaks something - could be C1Pv6 or camera or OS fault. If you are using this for paying jobs you absolutely cannot update until weeks after others have gone through and identified bugs. I have to trouble shoot people all of the time who go and update something on their capture computers. Its eith a new version of C1P or 10.7 or 8.

I don't have problems with tether now, nor have i ever had problems after an update...
except some small stuff that isn't that important,
If i had tether problems it was: because of a bad cable, or the cable wasn't pluged in, or i tried to do it with a camera that isn't a phase one.. For instance, 1dsmk3 had some trouble connecting, but when i tried with any of our phase ones, no problems.. so just shot on phase ones.. (

I remember a .point update that actually corrupted Canon files. but if a new version breaks something in the capture/tether process - it is a time killer on set. if its just for a hobby - not a big deal, but I can't afford that.
and about using only Phase backs as you say - nowadays people shoot quite infrequently with DB's in my experience.
and what updates are you looking for?

Most software that has the facility to auto update has it switchable, eg those that want their software can have it autoupdated whilst those that prefer to do it manually can do it that way.

If you havent had problems with a new version breaking you haven't been in this business long enough.
