What if you use the "Styles and Presets" tool (which you can relocate where you want or even use as a floating tool), instead of the app's main menu?

I can't comment on MAC but on Windows if you use the Styles tool rather than the Menu there have been some recent enhancements reduce the effect of sub-menus covering the image by having spring out menus drop left rather than right when space allows. (Or, presumably, vice versa if the tools are on the right and something appropriate to the current position if the Style tool is floating.)

Plan B would be to use 2 screens but I find that scrolling through the style options to see the effect can be undertaken more precisely (depending on what cursor movement tools are in use) when the active list of styles is within the line of site. Which implies it is over some part of the image.

    That's probably a personal thing.

Excellent. Thank you. That definitely works better. (Not quite perfect, and I can't get the menus to fly out to the left, but this is much better.) Thank you!

    Hi all,

I've been playing with the black-and-white "styles" and pre-sets. But when I try to work with them, the cascading menus obscure too much of the image. Is there any way to avoid the situation shown in the attached image? Thank you.

Here's a solution that works for me:

    1) 'View' - 'Place Tools Right'
    2) 'View' - 'Add Tool To Local Adjustments Tab' : Select the 'tool' you wish ( ie: Styles and Presets ).

Now, your tools/adjustments will be on the right side of the screen & then under local adjustments, you can see your presets without obscuring the photo. You can save/name any layout you wish under 'Window: Workspace-> Save Workspacen . and them do your editing from the right side ( make sense if you are right handed. Should look about like this.

Now... none of the styles are over the image.Got lots of happy space!
