Are you refering to a x64 CPU like Itanium or AMD's FX processors or the 64-bit version of Windows or a combination of the two?

    I am running an Intel P4 (3.6GHZ) em64T CPU with windows x64

Capture One is has not been tested or provide official support for 64-bit Windows XP, only 32-bit Windows XP and 2000 is supported.
I have to say I am sorry that I can not retest application to try to reproduce the problem and at the same time I want to turn to other users on this forum and ask if any one is using 64bit OS and ask what your experiance is?

I am wondering why you are using em64T, I have a hard time imaging why you would need to use more then 4GB of memory in a workstation and at the same time have the draw back that you are using 64bit OS on a 32bit CPU?

I am surprised to hear that coming from someone like you. In this era of manipulating multiple 68MB tiff images, what digital photog wouldn't want to move to 64-bit and it's expanded memory space? Borntojump's question is about running your app in 64-bit Windows (AMD64 based, not Itanium) on his EM64T (Intel version of AMD64) and its native Windows. I had some issues with 3.7.1 Pro installing properly, but I have to revisit the issue and I will post my findings here.

UPDATE: I installed 3.7.1 Pro on my system with 4GB of RAM and the app reports that there is no RAM available. This is a bug as there is way more than enough RAM. The app also crashes if you try to select several images for batch processing. Bibble 4.3 and RSE 1.13 work without incident

    Hi/goddag Ulf,

😊 we are only limited by our imagination 😊 and some of us are only limited by not enough money 😊

I am running the above system and I am getting a little message when i start up CO Pro 3.7 which says that I need 128mb and of ram and that 96mb is not enough 😊

Program runs otherwise fine, though it doesn't seem any faster then my other PC which is an Intel 3.2Ghz P4 with 2Gb of ram. I would have thought that having two processors would have given me a little boost. Don't tell me that I should have bought an Intel processor instead ☹️ cos that is a little too late.

Only problem atm with winxp x64 is the lack of drivers for monitor color calibration (am using a Spyder but will jump ship should someone come up with a driver before them) win xp x64 has been available for some time now, so IMHO drivers should be available from companies supporting windows platforms and Vista is around the corner (it is just a long corner 😊 )

Med venlig hilsen / kindest regards

    Hi 😄,

I am running Capture One PRO on a Windows XP x64 (dual AMD Opteron) workstation. Other than the start up message mentioned by Henrik Tived in the previous post, I have no issues. In fact for me, it runs significantly faster than my AMD FX-55 desktop PC. I do have 8GB installed on it and allocated 2GB of it to a RAM drive.

Currently, I let the Windows XP x64 workstation do the processing and embed the Camera profile in the final output and then move the images to my 32bit desktop PC. Reason for this is the missing Monitor Calibration software for the Windows XP x64 market. Once available, I will make the workstation my main PC. Things do run faster on it, even Photoshop (maybe because of the RAM drive) and Photoshop can access more than 2GB of RAM. In my case 2.7GB).

My best wishes to all of you who want to venture into the world Windows XP x64 with Capture One 😄. My setup worked. I hope your does too. If we have enough people using it, maybe Phase One will actually realease a 64Bit version of Capture One (One can always dream, no 😉 ).

    Cheers,
    Rajib

Current status is that we do not test or support the Windows XP64 and will not do it under the Capture One 3.x.
We do however intend to implement this to the test matrix for Capture One 4.0 even though it will not be a native 64bit application. Atleast not first time around 😉

Add me as another x64 (Windows XP64) user.

it is the future, and a growing number of people are moving across, so 'get with the program' please!

I get the same error box warning about low memory as others (ridiculous - I have 12Gb RAM) but it works ok so far.

    BUT
processing is not using dual cores - it is still ok for speed, but watching the process bar my 2x dual-core processor, (2 x Opteron 280 - 4 processor cores show in task manager) only 2 of the processors are really working at all.

this is probably not an x64 issue, but a core threading one - and needs to be addressed as dual core machines (32bit or 64bit) are here. I am trying to process P45 files, so I need alot of power to get through them fast, hence this powerful machine, but it's wasted if C1 doesn't use all the processor cores available.

I was on a quad core mac earlier today and that seemed quicker, probably because it was using all its threads.

Slight correction: We DO access dual core. Capture One Windows is a true dual processing application and take full advantage of Pentium D and AMD dual core. But by saying that we do not support Quad processing.
Windows XP is also only licensed for 1-2 CPUs, atleast from my side it is hight up on the wish list to have uqad processing supported just as Capture One Mac did get from version 3.7.3

ok that explains things like why the quad Mac G5 did such fast work, when I know a quad Opteron should be just as fast, but isn't.
Hope you get quad core support really soon - there's a lot of us out there, and its growing number in photography with the new big digital backs files - like yours!

let me know if you need any beta testers, I've been with Capture One for years, and still find it the best raw converter.

    Hi UlfLiljegren,

Thanks for the update 😊 .

Like peegeenyc, count me in if you need beta testers for the quad processors cores and / or 64bit testing 😄 . I would love to run things faster because of the huge file sizes and the huge number of files I need to process. Seconds gained on each image can mean hours gained in a day. That makes a lot of difference.

    Best regards,
    Rajib
